So in my second week of freedom I’ve been considering what it means to live a prosperous life and have been trying to put some of those plans into action.
For those of you who don’t know, the majority of my self-employed work wont kick-in until September, so I have the luxury of a few weeks to gather myself and reflect on how I plan to move forwards.
Jennifer Kempson (aka Mamafurfur) is running her Prosperity Accelerator again and after my experience of taking part in the group last year, I decided to give it another go.
So this week has seen me considering what it really means to live a prosperous life and actually beginning to take actions towards my vision on a daily basis.
The prosperity plan – passive income and time freedom
Creating a vision of our best life can leave us feeling quite displaced. Depending on what our vision is, it may feel like we’re miles away from where we want to be. But as with anything, the key is to identify tiny steps which will help us move closer towards our vision and do them consistently.
Ultimately, I want to increase the amount of passive income that flows into my life. It may be that I end up creating multiple passive income streams but the end-goal is to be time rich so that I can spend time doing the things I love.
I don’t want to spend my life trading my time for money. Instead, I hope to increase my passive income every year until I reach a point where trading my time for money is optional. I want to thrive – and to me that means living generously and giving generously.
My main focus right now is to build up my KDP business. It already gives me a small monthly income but I plan to grow it. I absolutely love writing, so whilst I previously learnt the ropes by publishing low content books and guided journals, I now want to expand and write books which I can also publish to the kindle.
Doing this not only means that I get to spend my time doing what I enjoy, but if it brings in a regular income then it’ll increase my time freedom too. And I really hope that what I write adds value and joy to the lives of others.
Saying ‘I want to publish a book’ can feel huge, almost overpowering if given too much thought. But the key is to focus on the next tiny step, complete it, then take the next tiny step. In a short time, those tiny steps will give huge results and you’ll end up wondering how you got there.
Daily goals
I’ve set some daily goals which I feel align with my vision of a prosperous life. Writing each day is one of them, but I’ve also included things which I believe will help propel me to my vision.
Firstly, I’m prioritising sleep. After the hustle and bustle of the end of term preparations, I spent the first week of the holiday feeling drained. It’s lovely to be able to go to sleep without to do lists and work worries at the back of my mind, so I’m making the most of it and trying to get at least 7 hours a night. By doing this, I know I’ll face each day feeling truly refreshed and will show up as my best self.
I’m taking time to declutter my home and release that which no longer serves me. By letting go of the old, I create space for the new energies and goodies to enter my life.
I’m redoing the breathwork challenge. Breathwork has had such an impact on my life so far and as Dan Brule says:
Breathwork changes something on a deep, primal level. If you can’t change it then don’t be surprised if you struggle to change anything else in your life.
So it feels like it would be the perfect accompaniment to the changes I want to make in my life.
I’ll also be introducing an indulgent hour. Each day, I will take an hour to do something lovely that isn’t goal orientated and for no other reason than pure enjoyment. This is something I want to grow as my time freedom expands, so it feels like it’s an important habit to focus on.
Other lovely things
Some of the other lovely things I’ve enjoyed this week are meeting up with my friends, family and visiting my Nanna. I was gifted a stunning peacock garden decoration from my friends – it’s currently living in the house as it brings me so much joy every time I look at it!
I’ve also taken time to cook delicious food using recipes from this book, read and have a few home movie nights with CP. It has felt much more blissful and settled than last week.
Over to you
So what would your ideal, prosperous life look like? Go wild, dream big or make it as cozy as you like. If you could try anything and you were guaranteed to succeed what would you do?
