Audiobooks and ebooks are growing increasingly popular. Even my Mum jumped on the bandwagon and embraced them before I did. She encouraged me to give them a go but they just seemed so expensive. So imagine my surprise when I discovered a simple way to access free audiobooks and ebooks.
Although I still prefer ‘proper’ books, this year I have have become a huge fan of audiobooks. They’re so easy to ‘read’ when I’m cleaning, travelling or just wanting to relax, making ‘reading’ so much more accessible on busy days. Anyone who knows me knows that I love a freebie, so I was so pleased when I discovered BorrowBox.
What is BorrowBox?
BorrowBox is a free app that allows you to borrow audiobooks and ebooks from your library. It’s easy to use across different devices and synchs perfectly. You can borrow or reserve up to 8 items at a time, so you’ll never be short of something to read or listen to. In the current climate, where finances are tight and budgets are being stretched, BorrowBox is a great way to access free audiobooks and ebooks.
How to set up BorrowBox
BorrowBox is easy to set up and most local library websites have their own guidance on how to do this. Just to show you how easy it is, I’ve posted the instructions that I followed below:
- Join your local library (if you haven’t already)
- Download the BorrowBox app onto your phone or tablet
- Open the app and select your local library
- Activate your membership using your library card number
- Start borrowing
And that’s it – it’s incredibly easy to set up, user friendly and best of all, it’s free! If you’d like more information then check out www.borrowbox.com or look on your local library website for more information.
