The Freedom Diaries 5. Sitting with inspiration

The Freedom Diaries: Week 5 – Sitting with Inspiration

by mortgagefreebythesea on Sep 2, 2021 category Personal Development, The Freedom Diaries

Sitting with inspiration is a new concept for me. I’m more of an impatient magpie who picks up a new nugget of inspiration and flies with it, only to drop it when it becomes too heavy. Admittedly, this tends to be because I’m endlessly attracted by new, shiny ideas and tend to over-burden myself.

This week, or should I say last week, was the second week of CP’s holiday, so we spent lots of our time doing lovely things. We visited The Deep, went up Withernsea Lighthouse and frequented many local cafes, comparing cappuccinos and sampling cake.

It felt amazing just to kick back and spend some quality time together. And I can’t wait to create more memories together.

Hull Kraken

The Freedom Diaries: Week 4 – Hull Kraken & Filling the Well

by mortgagefreebythesea on Aug 22, 2021 category The Freedom Diaries

On Thursday, myself and CP went to seek out the Hull Kraken. It was something we’d put on our list when we had our planning date & as she’s now on holiday for a fortnight, we decided to seize the day and do it.

For anyone who’s not familiar with Hull and has no idea what the Kraken is, the sea monster was unleashed during some refurbishment work on the Hull Maritime Museum, leaving a trail of tentacles around the city.

A comic containing the Kraken’s back-story has also been produced, along with a map to help you follow the trail. Living statues, theatre performances and live music were also en-route through the city.

Powerful Partnerships - The Freedom Diaries Week 3

The Freedom Diaries: Week 3 – Powerful Partnerships

by mortgagefreebythesea on Aug 15, 2021 category The Freedom Diaries

Welcome to week 3 of The Freedom Diaries. There’s been a lot going on in my world this week, but there’s been one underlying theme running seamlessly throughout – powerful partnerships.

What do I mean by powerful partnerships? They’re partnerships that help you move forwards in your life and achieve your goals and aspirations. And these have appeared in numerous forms this week.

Living a Prosperous Life

The Freedom Diaries: Week 2 – Living a Prosperous Life

by mortgagefreebythesea on Aug 8, 2021 category The Freedom Diaries

So in my second week of freedom I’ve been considering what it means to live a prosperous life and have been trying to put some of those plans into action.

For those of you who don’t know, the majority of my self-employed work wont kick-in until September, so I have the luxury of a few weeks to gather myself and reflect on how I plan to move forwards.

Jennifer Kempson (aka Mamafurfur) is running her Prosperity Accelerator again and after my experience of taking part in the group last year, I decided to give it another go.

So this week has seen me considering what it really means to live a prosperous life and actually beginning to take actions towards my vision on a daily basis.

The Freedom Diaries Week 1

The Freedom Diaries: Week 1 – When the universe has other plans

by mortgagefreebythesea on Jul 31, 2021 category A Year of Letting Go, Personal Development, The Freedom Diaries

So now I’ve quit my job, I thought I’d document my journey as I take the steps to create my new life. And what better title to give this series of blog-logs than The Freedom Diaries.

My plan is to publish a new diary each week with the discoveries I’ve made, steps I’ve taken and my current thoughts. It will be a way to track my progress while I explore this new way of being in the world.

When I left work last week, my plan was to have a restful week and allow myself some space and time to reflect. It seems the universe had other plans…
